I think 2020 was the fastest year of my life. It’s so crazy how fast time flew by. I can remember being a kid and having some certain date to look forward to, like a trip or a birthday, and thinking it took FOREVER for even a couple of weeks to drag by. But now, I look back on 2020 and can’t believe that an entire year has passed by. It’s weird, it feels like 2020 was like three different years in one, but it still went by at double speed. This year was filled with so many ups and downs, and so much change and uncertainty due to the virus, but I feel like I grew so much and experienced so many new things! It’s always fun to look back at the year, because I forget so many little things I did back at the beginning of 2020. I also wanted to reflect on my goals from this past year and whether or not I accomplished them!

current favorite podcasts
I’ve been listening to podcasts for a few years now, but this past year I’ve been super into them and I’ve found so many new ones. I love having them on in the background when I’m cleaning or doing chores, driving, or on my runs! I knew I had listened to a bunch of podcasts this year, but I didn’t realize how many I was actually listening to until I got my 2020 Spotify Wrapped. I had listened to over 27,000 minutes of podcasts alone… over 450 hours of podcasts, oh my gosh. I have a few favorites that I listen to every time they come out, and then a few that I listen to at random times, so I thought today I would do a little wrap up of all my favorites!
reviewing every book I read this summer (all 29!)
I’ve always loved reading, but this year I rekindled my love of books and I’ve had so much extra time for it. I’m honestly so sad that I’m so busy with school right now because I barely have time to read and I miss it so much. This summer, I was on a reading kick. I seriously read so much. If you remember my last book post, I mentioned that I was getting into mysteries and thrillers, and I dove headfirst into this genre over the summer. I also read some cute rom-com style books, a few faith related books, and also got into dystopian books! I’ve read 49 books so far this year, and here’s what I read this summer!
fall 2020 playlist
Summer is definitely my favorite season, but fall is a close second. I just love the coziness and happiness of pumpkin carving, leaves changing, holidays, just all the autumn vibes. It’s definitely not fall here yet, the high is literally 93 today, but it’s been a little cooler in the mornings and the Halloween candy is out at Kroger, so I’m officially in the fall mood. I make a fall playlist almost every year, and this one is a mix of so many different songs. I feel like last year’s was full of more slow, sad songs, and this one is a little more upbeat. It’s a mix of more alternative artists, like Lumineers or Mumford and Sons, older music like Tiny Dancer, and then some newer songs from more pop artists. I love putting this on when I’m driving around town or in the background as I’m doing homework or cleaning around the house!
September Goals
Hi everyone, long time no post! I really didn’t mean to, but I realized I didn’t post at all the whole month of August. It was a reallyyyyy busy month for me, between my last two weeks of summer juggling work and prepping to move in, then starting my sophomore year of college and trying to get in a good routine to balance my schoolwork. I hate being inconsistent, whether it’s on my blog, instagram, or youtube channel, but it can be so hard to balance it all while also doing schoolwork and taking time to read and unplug, as well. Anyway, I have been really excited for the month of September and I thought I would share my ten goals for the month! Even though it’s still sooo hot outside, September signals the start of fall for me, which I’m so excited for. Overall, I really want to get more in the fall mood and focus on getting into a healthy routine with college classes!
Photo Diary No. 3
Hello and welcome back to another photo diary post! These are some of my favorite posts, because they are basically a big recap of the past few months with lots of fun pictures. I absolutely love taking pictures/videos to have to look back on, and it was a goal of mine for this year to be more intentional with taking pictures and capturing memories. Since I haven’t done one of these in a while, this will be a bigger photo dump than usual, but I cant wait to do one at the end of the summer with all my summer pics!
My Favorite Summer Outfit
One of the biggest reasons I love summer is the summer fashion and the outfits that I can put together. I’d much rather wear a tank top than a sweater, so I’m so glad to finally be able to wear my summer closet again. I usually gravitate towards a denim skirt or shorts with a graphic tee, but I really want to get into wearing more dresses this summer! They’re easy to throw on, but they make it look like you tried hard on your outfit without much effort! There’s a dress I got last year from Target that I wear nonstop, so I really want to expand my dress collection and buy more! I bought this one from Forever 21 a few weeks ago and it’s definitely my new favorite!
June Goals
Happy June everyone! This is probably my favorite month of the year, for so many reasons. I love summer and the warm weather, the pool is open, no school, and my birthday is in just a few days! (the 4th!) I just made my summer bucket list last night and it’s making me so excited to really take advantage of this summer and try to do as much as possible. I really want to focus on growing my lifestyle/fashion instagram and be proud of my pictures and feed. I want to read lots of books and spend lots of time in the sun. I want to spend time with my friends and meet up with old friends from high school. I’m getting so motivated and excited for this month, so here are my top 10 goals for June!
Summer Vibes Playlist
I’m officially done with classes, the temps are 80s all week long, and the pool is opening in a few weeks… it’s summer! If you know me, you know summer is my all time favorite season. Ugh, it just makes me so happy that it’s finally summer and I have over 3 whole months of no school! Unfortunately, most of my summer plans got canceled, so I’m just planning on working at my local boutique job, reading at the pool, and spending lots of time with family/friends! Today’s post is my new summer playlist, and it’s been on repeat all week. I made a playlist back in April and it’s more of summer bops and popular songs, but this one is new and it’s more vibey and chill. Let me know if you give it a listen!
Recent Quarantine Reads
If you know me, you know how much I loveeee reading. I say this all the time, but I definitely go in phases with reading where I read a lot, then get in a rut and it’ll take me a month to get through one book. I started off the year strong and read a few books a month for the first part of the year, and then kind of got in a slump around March. With quarantine and everyone staying home, the library was closed, and I only had a couple of books at home that I hadn’t read already. After reading those, I was kind of unmotivated to read any new books and found myself choosing Netflix over books for a while. Then a few weeks ago, I found a few people on instagram that were sharing a lot of their book recommendations, and I got super inspired all over again. I was adding so many new books to my GoodReads account and getting so many options to read next. Needless to say, I’ve been on such a big reading kick for the past few weeks, and I can’t wait to share my recent reads!
May Goals + Intentions
Happy May! I always feel so inspired and motivated at the beginning of each month, and this month is no exception. I always love planning and setting goals for my life, and being done with school and the summer weather is making me even more inspired. I had a really good April, but towards the end of the month, I kind of lost motivation and discipline to stay healthy. I had such a good planning session a few days ago to write out my May goals and intentions, and I journaled a bit about the month ahead. One of my big goals of the month is to be intentional- to be aware of how I’m spending my time and really work on myself!
DIY Projects I Want to Try
Happy weekend! At this point the days are all starting to run together, and there isn’t much difference between the weekend and the regular days of the week. To be honest, I kind of like the regular weekdays more, because I feel more productive and motivated with my to do list of school stuff. Next week, I have two exams, and then I’m officially done with my freshman year! It’s so crazy. My schedule has been to get most of my school stuff done in the mornings before lunch, and then have the afternoons free for projects, working out, and more “fun” activities. Once my classes wrap up next week, I’ll have even more free time, and I really want to try to stay motivated and not just sit on my computer all day. So I took to Pinterest and rounded up some fun DIY and creative projects to try, enjoy!
productive things to do during quarantine
Is anyone else getting super bored after being stuck at home for so long? I think it’s now week 3 (or is it 4?) of quarantine and staying inside, and I’m definitely starting to lose motivation. To be honest, I didn’t mind it too much at first, and it was nice to have an extra week of spring break. But now that online classes have started up and I’ve gotten into more of a routine, I’ve just been feeling kind of uninspired and lazy. I’m the kind of person who always likes to be doing something and crossing tasks off my to do list, so I hate just laying around the house and not feeling like I’m making any progress with my goals. Today’s post is a big list of things to do while stuck at home, and I’m honestly excited to have this to look back on and check things off whenever I get bored!
Spring 2020 Morning Routine
Let’s just start off by saying this is definitely my ideal morning routine, but I definitely don’t stick with it every day. However, it’s always motivating for me to write out my morning routine and get inspired to follow my “dream morning routine” if you will. Since everyone is at home right now and colleges have closed because of the corona virus, my classes are now all online and I’ve had to make a new schedule for myself. It’s definitely harder to stay productive when I’m not required to go to certain classes at certain times, and I’m often tempted to spend the day on Netflix or chilling at home. But let me tell you- online classes are NOT easy. I thought it would be a lot easier than regular classes, but it’s actually a lot more work than I thought it would be. Keeping a consistent morning routine is key for me to start the day with a productive mindset and get everything done!
