The Friday Five
Wow, this week sure has gone by fast! It seems like these past few weeks have just zoomed by, which I guess is a good thing. Only about three more weeks until Spring Break! This week was super busy for me. I had lots of homework, tests and quizzes. I also got back to playing with my club soccer team this week, and I also had track practice every day! I’m so glad it’s Friday so I can catch up on some rest! I have a soccer game tomorrow morning but then after that my weekend will be absolutely free! Here are a few of my favorite things I saw throughout the week.
Trending Now: The Bucket Bag
The bucket bag is a new type of purse that is becoming very popular lately. It has two side straps so it hangs off the shoulder and down by the waist, but the actual purse part of it is shaped like a bucket. It comes in all types of colors, but I especially love the brown and light tan ones. There is a leather cord that loops through the top of the bag, just tighten and tie and you’re good to go! The bags hold a lot, since they are so deep. Usually they have some sort of compartment with a zipper on the side, and then you can just dump anything and everything into the large compartment! There are so many different ways to wear the bag and there are so many different places to buy them. The prices range greatly, depending on where you buy them and the quality of them. Read on to discover some of the top bucket bag picks.
Drinking More Water
One of my New Year’s Resolutions was to drink more water, and I think it was definitely a good goal to keep in mind. Water has a lot of benefits and I hadn’t been drinking as much as I should, so it was important that I started drinking more of it. So far, I’ve been doing pretty well at drinking water throughout the day, but I should definitely drink more of it. I’m either not thirsty or never think about it, but I need to start remembering. Water can help me stay hydrated through all the sports I play, so I will be prepared for track that I have after school. Water can also help keep your skin clear, flush out toxins in the body, and can satisfy hunger while also being the healthier option. I would also recommend trying different fruits to put in it, that way it’s not plain water all the time. Another fun thing to help you drink more water is to have a cute water bottle. I have a Camelbak bottle, but I also really like the S’Well water bottles, especially the “Santorini” one in the middle.
What’s your favorite water bottle? Do you drink water? Comment below!
Snack Option: Toasted Coconut
I’ve found out recently that I actually do like certain types of coconut. I don’t like it on cakes or shredded, but toasted coconut is so so good! The best brand to buy is Dang. I think it tastes amazing. This snack is healthy and coconut is beneficial for you, but it also tastes surprisingly good! I think it’s also not too messy and you can carry around the little package of toasted coconut in your lunchbox or purse or whenever you’re on the go. You can buy already toasted-coconut, but you can also make your own! There are so many recipes and ways to make this easy snack. I can’t wait to try making it on my own!
What is your favorite easy snack? Have you ever tried toasted coconut? Let me know below!
Ten Things To Do This Summer
I am so excited for summer. I get really excited just by looking at pictures from the beach or thinking of my summer plans. I’m just ready to be out of school. There are so many things I love about summer. It’s hot, no school, tan skin, and there is so much stuff to do! This summer I already know that I am going to camp and probably the beach. My family always gets a membership to a local pool, so that will be fun too. Lately I’ve been thinking of more great things to do this summer and I can’t wait! I’m probably just torturing myself even more by writing this post, but I am just really looking forward to summer- only about three more months until freedom!
How to Get to Sleep Faster
Hello and happy Valentine’s Day! Hope everyone had a great day. Today’s post is about a super effective way to get to sleep faster. I’ve always had trouble getting to sleep sometimes if I’m super busy at school or have a lot going on. I found this method from Pinterest and it works wonders! I use it whenever I need to get to sleep and it hasn’t failed to get me to sleep yet! It even works if you just are in the middle of a stressful day and need to calm down and empty your mind. I even did this at school right before I had a presentation and it helped get rid of my nerves. This method is the best!
Easy Breakfast- Blueberry Mug Cake
Sometimes in the morning I get so rushed and I don’t have enough time to make a nice fancy breakfast. Even eggs take too much time if I’m in a big rush. Something I’ve recently found to be a quick and easy breakfast meal is a breakfast mug cake. It’s really simple, just mix your ingredients and pop it in the microwave for a couple of minutes. I’ve seen a lot of different recipes for mug cakes, but I’ve only tried the blueberry kind. I found this recipe from Pinterest and have been using it ever since!
The Friday Five
This week seemed to fly by, it’s crazy to think it’s already Friday. I’m not complaining though, hopefully this weekend I can catch up on some sleep. This week was thankfully not very busy. I didn’t have an overload of homework and soccer season is over. I went to track again and I started getting back into the routine of training. Our first meet is in just a few weeks! I had a few things that I saw and absolutely loved this week. Read on to see my Friday Five.
Greece
Greece looks like an absolutely beautiful place to visit. Ever since a few years ago when my camp counselor told me her dream vacation was to go to Greece, I have been obsessed with it. Greece just seems so perfect! The scenery and beaches are beautiful, the places to stay are amazing, and there is great food! Everything about Greece is just so colorful and vibrant! Enjoy some pictures of Greece and maybe plan your spring break trip to here!
Pattern Play
These days, people have been mixing up patterns in all sorts of ways. It’s become more and more popular to take two different prints and pari them together into an outfit. More and more prints are starting to be worn recently, especially in the winter. People mix striped shirts and plaid button ups or tartan scarfs and it looks great together! Some of my favorite prints would have to be leopard print, stripes, tie dye, and plaid. Here are some ways they are used best!
Valentine’s Day Gifts
Valentine’s day is always a fun holiday. It includes a lot of candy and a lot of pink stuff, but the candy is basically the best part of the whole day. What’s even better is that usually all of the candy goes on sale after Valentine’s Day, so be sure to get discounted candy February 15. Since Valentine’s Day is all about the red and pink colored things, I made a set of nine different pink and red gifts to give to a friend, family member, or loved one. Most of these are pretty well priced, too! Read on to discover some Valentine’s Day picks.
State Championship Soccer Game
Last Saturday my team played in the state championship for Class 5A soccer. And for the first time in school history, the Lady Chargers won! It was so exciting to see how happy everyone was. Although I didn’t play myself, I got so wrapped up in the game and was so focused on it. We won 2-1, so it was really close. We scored in the last five minutes to break the tie. It was so amazing to see the seniors that night. They had been trying to win a state championship since the seventh or eighth grade, and we finally did it. That night, everyone was so excited and I don’t think anything could have made that trip better.
