It’s been a minute! I unintentionally took a break from writing/reading blogs in general, but it is so fun to catch up on all the articles I’ve missed. It feels like a “productive” way of being online, in a way. I don’t leave feeling like I just doomscrolled for 30 minutes; I actually gained inspiration instead. My goal is to post at least once a week: about my current thoughts, monthly favorites, what God has been teaching me, health inspiration, and more.
I really love the turn of a season and all the newness that it brings. Don’t get me wrong, summer is my favorite season, and I’m sad for it to be over, but fall is just such a great time of year. I always feel so nostalgic in the fall. Maybe it’s because of the “back to school” season and feeling like a kid again, the weather getting cooler and feeling melancholy about the shorter days, or even something as simple as football being back and reminding me of growing up in the South? I just feel so sentimental and cozy when September comes around!
I had such a fun summer with lots of travel: rode bikes around Florida, went surfing in San Diego, walked 100k steps around New York, and explored Boston. But I also had some great quality time in Oxford, being in Christian community with new friends, playing co-ed soccer every Thursday, serving in my church, cooking with my roommates, and just being content with the little daily routines. I think that’s what I’m most excited to take into this fall: finding joy in everyday life. Looking for how God has blessed me in the small things and being content with where I’m at. I don’t have any crazy trips or experiences planned for this fall, but I’m still just as excited for the little things. The first 60-degree day, trying a new coffee order, watching Harry Potter with friends, warm soup on a chilly night… the list goes on. I want to share a full fall bucket list soon, but for now, a few of my September goals + favorites.
