My 2018 Goals + Resolutions

1 / 15 / 181 / 15 / 18

Wow. It’s already two weeks into 2018! Time seems to pass by sooo slowly when I’m in the middle of the school day or doing homework, but after I look back, I see how quickly it’s really gone by. Seeing as it’s already way past the first day of the year, this post is a little late, but I really wanted to share some of my goals for this year so I can go back and check my progress and see what I wanted to accomplish! A lot of the goals are similar to last years, but I feel like I’ve done pretty well so far keeping up with them, which only motivates me more to stay with them!

Desk Tour + Madison & Co Prints

12 / 1 / 171 / 17 / 18

Last year for Christmas I got a desk for my room, and ever since then it’s become a staple furniture piece in my room. I love sitting down at an organized desk and getting stuff done, it makes me feel so productive! My desk is a little plain, I still need to get a few more knick knacks and accessories to add some color. Recently I got creative and decided to make a little gallery wall above the desk. There’s only a few prints on it now, but I want to expand it and add more pictures later! Madison and Co. is a super cute shop with lots of prints that are perfect for spicing up any plain space, so I decided to add some onto my wall! Read on for more pictures!

My Fall Reading List

10 / 23 / 1712 / 16 / 21

fall reading list

Back in the summer, I read nonstop. It was like I forgot how much I loved it and couldn’t get enough. I was always at the pool working on some summer read I found at the library. Now that school has started back, I rarely have time to read. I hate that, but I definitely want to try and make time for it more throughout my week. I was thinking the other day: I spend countless minutes wasted on my phone looking at random things when I could be spending 30 minutes a day reading! I went to a local bookstore this past weekend and found so many new books I want to read soon, I can’t wait to start!

The Friday Five

10 / 20 / 1710 / 19 / 17

Happy Friday! This was a pretty good week, I can’t believe we’re over halfway through with October already. My ideal fall weather is probably 50-60 degrees, and although it did warm back up closer to lunch, it felt amazing in the mornings! The sad thing is that it’s going to be super hot tomorrow, just in time for my cross country meet 🙃.  I’m seriously so happy it’s fall and I can’t wait to get into the fall-ish activities. This Sunday my youth group is going to a corn maze and I’m super pumped. Here’s my roundup of the week.

How to Actually Enjoy Your Mornings

10 / 18 / 1710 / 16 / 17

Mornings are so hard for me because I’m always super tired and it’s so difficult to get out of bed. Now that school has started back and is in full swing, I’ve found it even harder to drag myself out from under the comforter and start my routine. But recently I’ve been thinking about ways to really enjoy your mornings and make them something to look forward to instead of dread. I realized, I can wake up five days of the week almost every week for the next 9 months and be cranky and in a bad mood or I can start to actually make the most of my time before school.

September Playlist

10 / 16 / 17

september playlist

This playlist is probably like my favorite one ever (or in a close tie with my Christmas Playlist haha). I got my license back in August but September was when I really started to drive more often, which means lots of fun music almost every day! I listened to these songs all the time and was constantly adding new music to the playlist. There are actually a lot more songs than these, but I rounded up my absolute favorites to share today! I know this is kinda late, seeing as we’re already halfway through October (where has the time gone?) but I hope you enjoy!

The Friday Five

9 / 15 / 179 / 14 / 17

Finally. We’re done with this busy week and I couldn’t be happier. Did this week seem unusually long for anyone else? Maybe it was because I got used to the short week last week from Labor day, but this week seemed to drag by. I was extremely busy all week with cross country, school, and babysitting. This weekend, I have a cross country meet most of the day Saturday, and then Sunday I’m probably going to see a movie and hang out with a friend. Desperately trying to get all my homework done by tonight so I don’t have any homework over the weekend!

Reasons to Love Fall

9 / 11 / 179 / 10 / 17

Yay yay yay! It’s finally turning into fall! Slowly but surely, fall is coming, and I couldn’t be happier. I think this year is the most excited I’ve been about fall, and I’m surprisingly not as sad as I thought I’d be that summer is over. The other day I just started thinking about all the amazing things about fall and got so happy. Fall has so many fun aspects, from holidays (Halloween and THANKSGIVING), cooler weather, hay rides and corn mazes, and so much more. I decided to make a list of all my favorite things about fall. It got me even more excited just thinking about it. I also want to make a fall bucket list (last year’s bucket list!) and try to complete everything on it!

The Friday Five

9 / 1 / 179 / 1 / 17

Happy happy Friday! I’ve probably never been so glad it’s the end of the week. Was this week super long for anyone else or is it just me? I had so much homework every single day on top of cross country practices to get ready for our meet. Our first race is this weekend- Saturday night! I’m super excited but the nerves are already starting to hit me hard. Even better about this weekend- no school on Monday! I keep forgetting about Labor Day and it’s always a nice surprise to remember we have a long weekend!

August Playlist

8 / 25 / 179 / 1 / 17

I haven’t done a playlist post in forever, but I love sharing my recent music faves! In this playlist, there are a few new songs that I’ve found and love, but there are also a lot of throwbacks. I basically went through my old favorite playlists and selected some fun songs that I’ve already loved. This month I’ve been listening to Vance Joy a lot as well, he’s always a go to artist with amazing music! I especially love his song Georgia, its’s so calming and he has a beautiful voice.

Spring Break Begins! + My SB Bucket List

3 / 11 / 173 / 11 / 17

It’s been so long since my last post, and honestly I know I say this every time but I have been extremely busy. In the two to three weeks leading up to spring break, teachers have started new lessons and chapters and then to finish off our units, this week I had 7 tests! But I finally finished up my last little bit of work today and I have a week off for Spring Break! I’m not doing anything super exciting, and sadly, I’m not taking a big trip or going to the beach. But I still want to make the Spring Break count and do a lot of fun things. A few weeks ago I was bored in class so I made a Spring Break bucket list of some things I want to try out and do. I’m always up for more ideas so be sure to let me know what you’re doing for Spring Break in the comments below!

DIY: How to Make Printed Whales

2 / 7 / 17

Hello everyone! This is my first how to/DIY post in a while- if at all- and I’m really excited to show you how to make some super cute printed whales! Back in eighth grade, my computer class was taught how to use a website called Pixlr, where you can edit and tweak photos and do some super cool things to them! I learned so many tricks to that website, and use it all the time! The other day, I was trying to figure out a design for our class t-shirts for my school. I had an idea in mind but wanted to see how it would look on the computer instead of a rough sketch. I played around on Pixlr until I finally created what I had in mind for the t-shirts, and then I started thinking. It would be super cute to take the Vineyard Vines whale logo and add fun prints to it! I’ve seen the printed whales everywhere but never knew how to create them. Read on for instructions on how to create your own printed whales!

The Friday Five

1 / 20 / 171 / 19 / 17

It sure has been a while since my last Friday Five! This week has been really busy, I was surprised at how much homework I’ve had this week, plus some to do over the weekend! This week was filled with lots of soccer: my team had a few games and practices, and we made it to the playoffs! I’m super excited about this, especially since we won state last year and have a good chance we can do it again. Besides homework, I have a few fun things I’m doing this weekend, and I’m so glad it’s finally Friday! I found a few fun links this week, read on for more!

10 Bible Verses to Get You Through the Week

1 / 18 / 17

Happy Hump Day! We are halfway done with this crazy week. Even with the day off on Monday, I’ve been super busy and I’ve had so much homework. I’ve been obsessed with Pinterest lately, and I love all of the different quotes, verses, and sayings that are written in the cute fonts. These are great to use as a background, to print and stick where you’ll see it in the morning, or just to memorize as a reminder throughout the day. Today I’ve rounded up ten verses to keep in the back of your mind as you get through this busy week. Enjoy!
