I know, it’s only the beginning of September and fall hasn’t “officially” started, but I’m already so excited. Fall is definitely one of my favorite seasons, I just love how cozy it feels: the baking, pumpkins, the weather, everything about it. I hate that in Mississippi there’s barely even a fall, because I feel like it feels great outside for about two weeks, then the leaves turn dead and it’s immediately cold. Anyways, might as well start celebrating early to enjoy it while it lasts, right? I don’t know if it’s just me, but fall = reading in my mind. I love the idea of cozying up on a pretty fall day with a good book. The other day, I went through my Goodreads list and found a bunch of books that I want to try to read over the next few months. These aren’t necessarily fall themed or anything, but most have been on my “to-read” list for a while and I’m ready to work my way through them!
Never Let Me Go // The Box in the Woods // Lovely War // The Royal We // The Nightingale // Tell Me Everything // The Blue Bistro // The Atlas Six // The One // November 9 // They’ll Never Catch Us
Like I mentioned, a lot of these have been on my list for a while, but some of them are new releases/new to me books that I recently heard about and want to pick up. The other day I went to Lamar Park with my family, and on the trail they had the cutest Little Free Library box. I’ve started to see these pop up around town, but I’ve never actually found any good books in them- until now. There was the new Maureen Johnson book, “The Box in the Woods”, which just came out a few months ago! I really enjoyed her Truly Devious series and this one has the same characters, but is set at a summer camp. I also really want to read November 9 because I’ve heard so much about it, and I feel like it’s the perfect fall read. I listened to a podcast with Elin Hilderbrand the other day and she was saying The Blue Bistro is her favorite book she’s written, which of course means I have to read it!
Making this list just made me excited to start reading, haha. If only I could spend all day in a good book… school is just wayyy too busy for that right now :/.
