Indoor Summer Activities

Hello everyone!I’m so sorry it’s been so long since I last posted, I had lots of studying to do during exam week and then I had to turn my computer in to the school so I haven’t been able to post anything for a while! I can’t believe summer is finally here! I had been waiting for it for so long and time just zoomed by (which is a good thing). Today’s post is about fun things you can do while staying inside this summer. Recently I found out that I have a stress fracture in my shin, so I can’t do as much as I had planned to do this summer. No sports practices or running for the next few weeks! With that in mind, I started thinking of some things to do while inside over the summer, so read on to discover some fun ideas!

One// Read: I know some people say reading isn’t their thing, but it’s so great to find a good book and relax in the sunshine for a few hours. If you’re like me and have tons of summer reading over break, you can get that done early and not procrastinate, or you can go to the library and pick up a few good ones. I would recommend: Wonder, Dead End in Norvelt, Where’d You Go, Bernadette, and the Harry Potter series just off the top of my head. Check out goodreads for more suggestions.

Two// Color: Adult coloring books have become more popular lately and I really like them! I got one for Christmas and forgot about it until recently, and I’ve been using it a lot now! Mine is super detailed, and it’s really fun to try and make it perfect. It can also be really relaxing to just calm down and color for a while. I have this one, but there are tons of others to choose from!

Three// Bake: I know this might not sound like the most fun idea, but it could be enjoyable to invite a friend over and bake something together! A cake, some cookies, a new recipe, anything! Stay inside and bake something delicious, then put a movie on a munch on it while you watch!

Four// Games: Staying inside this summer can be way less boring with fun games to play! Some of my favorite board games are Clue, Monopoly, and Life, but there are so many other fun ones out there to play! Also card games could be fun, like hearts, bull,  or phase ten. You can play with your family, or make a game night with friends and play together!

Five// Reorganize: Since you have a lot of time on your hands this summer with no school, do something new to your room to spruce it up a bit! You can go big and really redo you room with new colors and everything, but small touches can really help it feel more refreshed. Reorganize your bedside table with new trinkets and books. Add a corkboard with pictures or stickers. Get a great smelling candle and light it from time to time. Simple things like that!

So I hope this gave you some fun ideas! I know it’s my always fun to stay inside al summer, but if you ever need a break from the heat, try some of these options to keep cool and have fun  thanks for reading!
