Happy hump day! This week has gone by super fast so far, and overall it’s been good! I went out of town Thursday and missed all day Friday for a college visit, so Monday was a little stressful because I had lots of schoolwork to catch up on. Thankfully I didn’t have work Monday, so I was able to grind and get it all out of the way. This is my first full week of track practices, and I couldn’t be happier to be back running! I’m definitely out of track shape, but thankfully we have a few weeks before our first meet so I have time to get back on track…literally.Read More
Happy February! To be honest, I wasn’t excited for February at all at the beginning of the year. It’s always cold, there’s nothing fun to look forward to, and there’s no school breaks the entire month. But while I was journaling and making my goals at the beginning of the month, I was actually getting really excited! January was such a good month for me that I want to continue the productivity into February!Read More
Did anyone else feel like January just flew by? Usually January is one of the slowest months of the year for me, but I feel like it was already halfway through the month before I knew it, and then the last half was so busy that when I looked up, it was January 30th! January was a great month. It took a week or so to get back into a routine after I started back school, but now that I’ve gotten used to my classes and schedule, I’ve gotten a lot more productive.Read More
Recently I’ve been so into looking at food blogs and instagrams to find lots of inspiration for recipes to try. I love finding new meal and snack ideas to add to my regular rotation. I eat a lot of the same meals because I love them and know I’m going to enjoy them, but I definitely want to branch out with my meal options and try new combos!Read More
Happy New Year! I seriously cannot believe it’s 2019 already. This is going to be a big year for me, I graduate, travel a lot, start college, and learn to live on my own. If this semester goes by even half as fast as last semester, it’ll be over before I know it. I feel like the year 2019 always seemed like so far away for me. I always knew I was getting closer and closer to my graduation year, but it never felt like it would ever get here. But it’s here! I graduate in less than six months. That is seriously crazy. Today I wanted to recap 2018 and share some of my goals for the upcoming year!
Last year, I ate the same two or three breakfasts every day the whole year. Maybe a few times I would have leftover pancakes or banana bread from the day before, but I think I cycled through cereal, a nature valley granola bar, or peanut butter toast all school year. This year I’ve been switching it up and eating some new, healthy breakfasts that are also super quick to make. I’m always pushing it until the very last minute to get in the car to head to school, so these are perfect for on the go mornings!
How are we already halfway through October? Time is literally zooming by. I can clearly remember October 1st like it was a few days ago, not two weeks ago! In August and September, I was so excited for fall, even though it was way too early. Now that it’s finally actually autumn and the weather is changing, I feel like I lost my fall spirit. I’ve barely done anything “fall-y”. I’ve gone to the pumpkin patch, made a few fall recipes, and gotten a candle, but it’s not enough. I’m determined to spend the next two weeks doing as many spooky and fall related things as possible before November hits. I know it’ll technically still be “fall” in November, but by that time I’m in full Christmas mode :).
It’s so weird not to be doing a Friday Five like I normally do, but I think I want to switch it up and start doing weekly wrapups! With the Friday Fives I shared links/items I saw throughout the week, but these will be more of like an overview of my past week. Things I did, recent thoughts, weekend plans, and more!
A little late, but I’m finally getting around to sharing my August playlist! August consisted of lots of driving. Between school, work, and up to three practices a day, I definitely had some time in the car to listen to music. Some of these are older songs from previous playlists, some are new releases that I’ve been loving, and some are ones that I would never usually try but after other people recommended them, I fell in love! Honestly a super random collection of songs but this playlist is one of my favorites.
Recently, I can’t stop thinking about fall and all the fun things the season brings. It’s bad how excited I am, and this 95 degree weather we’re having isn’t making it seem like autumn is coming any time soon. A few days ago I started looking at old pictures and videos from last fall. All the leaves on the ground, fall candles, baking cookies and pies, pumpkin picking, I can’t freaking wait. Of course it didn’t help that I spent about 30 minutes on Pinterest one night looking at cute fall pictures and bucket list ideas. Even though we have a while to go before fall really hits, I’m already thinking of fun ideas for autumn.
Wow, it’s been forever since my last post. I know I say it a lot, but I really want to start posting more. I feel like I always used to post only outfit and style posts that never really turned out how I wanted them to. Now, I want to use this blog as a way to update on my life, my interests, and my thoughts. I’ll still keep some of the same styles of posts, like weekly roundups and music playlists, but I want to be more personal and be proud of the content I’m putting out. That being said, today I’m sharing my goals for the month of August. I’m excited about the new month and new experiences!
Who else finds the best quotes from Pinterest? My “Words” board is one of my favorites because I love all the motivation and encouragement. Recently I was scrolling through Pinterest and I found this quote about not just looking forward to the weekend, but to “live for Tuesday”. I freakin love this quote and I’ve been thinking about it a lot and how important it is to try to make every day a good day, not just the weekends.
Recently I’ve been really into oatmeal as a quick before-school breakfast. I really want to take pics and share my usual oatmeal recipe, so hopefully soon that post will be up! I’ve always made the same type of oatmeal every morning, so I want to branch out and try some new recipes! I’ve never tried overnight oats but I always see recipes pop up on my pinterest that I’ve been meaning to attempt. Here’s a few of my top recipes I want to try!
I always forget how much I love spotify premium until I get the three month Christmas special and become obsessed all over again. They had a deal for $9.99 for three months and I snagged it when I first saw the offer. I found a ton of good music in December. Taylor Swift (finally) put her new album on Spotify, Ed Sheeran’s duet with Beyonce was on repeat, and I rediscovered some old songs that I forgot I used to love!
